The $98 million Marvella women and girls sports complex planned south of Fair Oaks Farms in Newton County plans to have a star-studded groundbreaking ceremony this fall.
Former ESPN personality Suzie Kolber, WNBA champion Tamika Catchings, former Notre Dame women's basketball coach Muffet McGraw, soccer gold medalist Lauren Holiday, and former Sen. Evan Bayh are all slated to appear at the ceremonial kickoff of construction of the 300,000-square-foot complex in Northwest Indiana. Tennis legend Billie Jean King and members of the Indiana Fever may also attend the groundbreaking for the "nation's first sports complex focused on empowering girls."
