KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A man was arrested for allegedly driving his car through the gates at the Augusta Quarry Sunday night.

Christyan Thompson, 28, is charged with driving under the influence, assault, criminal impersonation, reckless driving, resisting arrest and a probation violation.

According to a warrant for Thompson's arrest, Knoxville police were called to the August Quarry around 11 a.m. Monday and met with a city quarry coordinator who said the gate to the quarry was destroyed by a car that drove through the gate trying to leave the area after hours. The warrant said the incident took place around 8:50 p.m. Sunday.

While the officer was speaking with the city employee, they were approached by a man who was at the quarry the night before and saw what happened.
