Brantford park patrollers recognized at city council meeting

A couple of Brantford park patrollers were commended for helping to save a vulnerable teenage girl in distress.

Adam Shipp and Zander Rivers were on duty on the night of July 8 when Brantford police were searching for a missing teen in the downtown area. Police officers, a drone and the canine unit had already been deployed when the two park patrollers were given a photo and description of the missing teen at about 9:49 p.m.

At 10 p.m., the patrollers found the missing teen in Victoria Park. She was in a very vulnerable state and accompanied by a confrontational male, Mayor Kevin Davis said at Tuesday’s meeting of city council.
