Senator Iván Cepeda, a key figure in the investigations against former Colombian President Álvaro Uribe Vélez, announced in the ordinary plenary session that he will file a criminal complaint with the Attorney General's Office against the former president, his two sons, and the director of the Centro Democrático party, for allegedly being involved in the crimes of aggravated slander, aggravated insult, aggravated harassment, and threats.

The indictment is based on a systematic persecution and defamation operation deployed through social media, the media, and international campaigns that falsely attribute punishable conduct to them.
