Poudre School District’s Board of Education nixed a controversial policy change that would have limited public comment to one meeting per month by a 5-2 vote at its Aug. 26 meeting, drawing cheers from many of the 20 or so community members in attendance.
The school board will continue to allow 30 to 45 minutes per meeting for community members who sign up by the required deadline — usually 5 p.m. the previous day or sooner — to show up in person at either of the two monthly meetings and speak their minds for up to three minutes apiece.
