ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The 19-year-old Albany man accused of striking a 93-year-old man with his car in Cohoes and fleeing pleaded not guilty in court on Wednesday. Kemaury Everett was charged with manslaughter, assault, and fleeing the scene of an incident without reporting.

Cohoes Police Officers responded to the area of Newark Street and Congress Street for reports of a car that hit a pedestrian and fled the scene around 9:44 a.m. on August 18. Police said they found 93-year-old Charles Allendorph visibly injured in the roadway before he was taken to Albany Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Law enforcement found the suspect vehicle within an hour and seized it for evidence. Everett was arrested at his home nearby.

The defendant will be back in court on September 1
