Two children, aged 8 and 10, have died after a gunman opened fire on a catholic school in Minneapolis today, before he then died of a self-inflicted gunshot wounds.

Emergency services are responding to the mass shooting in Minneapolis, US . The incident is a mass casualty event with 17 people, 14 of which were children.

The incident unfolded at the Annunciation Church where children had been at mass for the start of their school year.
