Police are investigating a reported rape that occurred in Liverpool city centre. The incident took place on Temple Lane, with officers receiving the report just before 5am on Friday, 25 July. The victim, a man in his 20s, is currently receiving support from specialist officers.

In an effort to gather more information, detectives have released CCTV images of a man who may assist with the investigation. Detective Constable Alexa Collins stated, "We take reports of sexual offences very seriously and we are very keen to speak with the person featured in the images to help with our enquiries. This was an extremely traumatic experience for the victim and we are working hard to ensure the person responsible is identified."

Collins urged the man in the images to come forward and also encouraged anyone who may recognise him to contact the police. She added, "We also encourage people to come forward if you know anything about the incident which will help with our investigation."

The police have emphasised the availability of specialist support services for anyone who has been a victim of sexual assault or rape. These services are free of charge and accessible to all, regardless of whether a report has been made to Merseyside Police. The statement from the force highlighted that individuals can receive confidential discussions about making a police report and will be supported throughout any investigation and court processes.
