EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - A 350-mile bike ride is no easy task, but hundreds of bike riders on Wednesday started that challenge.
Cyclists participating in the DALMAC bicycle tour ride from East Lansing to the Mackinac Bridge.
The riders complete the course in either four or five days, depending on which course they decide to take.
On the way, they stop for lunch, for a quick swim, and for other fun activities besides biking.
Dan Stockwell, the director of this year’s tour, has taken on this challenge 20 times.
He was drawn to it both as a personal physical challenge and simply because it sounded like fun.
Beyond the physical aspect, the ride also serves a greater purpose: raising money to improve biking conditions in Michigan.
