Two people died in separate motor vehicle crashes that occurred in Bristol County over the weekend, officials said.

Around 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, State Police responded to reports of a vehicle in the woods on Interstate 195 East, Bristol District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III’s office said.

A red 2013 Chevrolet Cruze went off the road near mile marker 21, which is near Dartmouth. Upon arrival, police found the car had struck a tree and had “catastrophic damage,” the statement said.

Crystal Mullens, 36, of East Freetown, was found in the drivers seat with significant injuries. She was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead, the statement said.

An adult male passenger, who was not injured, was also located at the crash, officials said.
