ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A man is dead after a crash in the area of Rt. 5 & 20 and Cooley Road in Canandaigua.

News 8 crews were on scene and confirmed with the Ontario County Sheriff's Office that a box truck collided with an SUV. The driver of the box truck, an adult man, died at the scene. His name has not been released.

Deputies said the driver of the other vehicle was uninjured, but a child passenger reported shoulder pain. They were taken to Strong Memorial Hospital out of precaution.

Investigators determined the box truck was heading westbound on Rt. 5 & 20, and the SUV was going northbound on Hickox Road. What caused the crash remains under investigation.
