LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- A program that has doled out millions of dollars to help thousands of local residents avoid eviction is no longer accepting applications for rental assistance.
The funding for the program, Clark County Eviction Prevention and Fixed Income Rent Assistance, formally CHAP, is nearly gone and is no longer accepting applications for rental assistance, according to a news release from Clark County.
“We recognize this news may be challenging for those who are experiencing hardship,” Jamie Sorenson, Clark County director of social services, said.
Applications already in the system will be processed in the order received until the funding is exhausted. However, priority is given to senior citizens and people with disabilities. Those people are asked to apply to the Las Vegas
