LOS ANGELES - Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s engagement already had the feel of a modern-day fairytale. Now, genealogists say the couple’s romance carries real royal lineage, linking them to some of Europe’s most powerful monarchs.
New research from family history company MyHeritage shows Swift is related to King Louis XIV of France, while Kelce is connected to King George I of Great Britain. The findings add to what many fans have dubbed "America’s royal wedding."
Swift is the 8th cousin 11 times removed of Louis XIV, who ruled France from 1643 until 1715. Their shared ancestors were Michael de la Pole, 2nd Earl of Suffolk, and his wife Katherine Stafford, English nobles of the 14th century.
Her family later migrated to New England and Pennsylvania, while Louis
