WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) - The North Country Quilters Guild is giving back to those in need.

The guild donated roughly 45 quilts on Wednesday to local organizations, including the Children’s Home of Jefferson County, the Victims Assistance Center, and Hospice of Jefferson County.

“I wanted a way to highlight the actual agencies because it’s because of their hard work and the people that they help that we wanted to help make a difference. So I was thinking that by presenting the quilts to all three agencies, it would be our way of saying, ‘We care about all of you. We care about the people you help,’” said Cheryl Stevens, co-chair of the North Country Quilters Guild.

The quilts were either sewn or donated by the nearly 80 members of the guild.
