SAN ANTONIO — The family of the 6-year-old hit and killed by a driver on the West side Tuesday night gathered at the site of the crash Wednesday night for a vigil.
Police said the little boy, identified by family as Axel Aurelio Hernandez, was playing on a toy car that rolled into the street on Amires Place when he was hit around 5 p.m. Tuesday.
The driver told authorities he didn't see the boy and that he wasn't driving too fast. He is not facing any charges since he stopped and rendered aid.
That truck was captured on a neighbor's doorbell camera. It can be seen reversing while children are heard screaming and seen running to another home.
A neighbor told KENS 5 it was her boyfriend who ran out and immediately performed CPR on the 6-year-old. Police say the driver of the truck also
