A Helena man convicted of trafficking methamphetamine and fentanyl was sentenced Wednesday to 148 months in prison to be followed by five years of supervised release, a federal official said.
David Alan Moorse, 39, pleaded guilty in April to possession with intent to distribute controlled substances, U.S. Attorney Kurt Alme said.
The government alleges in court documents that law enforcement received information Moorse was distributing fentanyl powder in Montana. Moorse told one source he had a good hookup in Helena and sent pictures of a brick of fentanyl powder.
He was located at a casino in Helena on Jan. 9 and arrested for a state probation violation warrant.
