EUGENE, Ore. - Families in Eugene gathered on Wednesday to support a meaningful cause and create joyful memories at Valley River Center.

According to A Family for Every Child officials, the organization hosted an Aug. 27 Fairytale Princess Meet and Greet event. Instead of ticket sales, attendees donated new clothing or cash to assist local foster and at-risk youth.

The event also encouraged participation in the ongoing Back-to-School Giving Tree campaign, which runs through Sept. 2. Julie Styles, an attendee, shared her excitement.

"It's my birthday so we're celebrating my birthday and I wanted to see the princesses today," Styles said.

The community continues to show support for local children through these initiatives, making a positive impact on their lives.
