BUFFALO, N.Y. — Friends and family of Amanda Thompson rallied on Wednesday in honor of their loved one and all domestic abuse victims.

The 44-year-old Buffalo woman was killed in July allegedly by her ex-boyfriend Rickey Crouch who is now charged with murder.

Her friends and family members are convinced Thompson was not only a victim of domestic violence, but the state's bail reform laws as well.

They hold that belief by noting that Crouch, who had been paroled from state prison after serving time for murder, was already facing prosecution for two prior domestic violence incidents involving Thompson, including one with a gun in the weeks leading up to her slaying.

Yet he was still out on the streets.
