(KRON) -- A person was assaulted Wednesday afternoon at a Caltrain station in Redwood City, officials said. The assault happened around 4:52 p.m. on the southbound platform of the Redwood City Station.
The victim was taken to the hospital where their condition is unknown at this time, Caltrain said. As of 7:30 p.m., the southbound platform is closed to the public.
At this time, trains at the San Carlos, Belmont and Redwood City stations will board on the northbound platform.
"The southbound platform is currently closed to the public; trains will single-track through the area and continue to serve the station on the northbound platform," Caltrains said.
Caltrain did not provide an estimated timetable for when the Redwood City platform will reopen.
KRON4 has a crew headed to the scene.
