THE BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) – Two slashings happened hours apart near the 161st Street-Yankee Stadium Subway station on Wednesday evening, police said.

Officers say the first slashing took place at 4:27 p.m. near East 161 Street and River Avenue.

A 51-year-old man was slashed on the hip. The victim refused medical attention, according to authorities.

A few hours later, within the same area and this time inside the train station, a man was stabbed in the stomach at 6:20 p.m. The victim was taken to a local hospital, where he is in stable condition and is expected to survive, authorities said.

No arrests have been made in connection with the incidents. An investigation remains ongoing, police said.
