ST. LOUIS - Bar K, a recently closed establishment, is now embroiled in legal troubles as its founder, Lieb Dodell, faces a lawsuit from a former landlord for nearly $250,000 in unpaid rent.

The lawsuit, filed by Green Street on Tuesday, alleges that Dodell personally guaranteed that Bar K would continue to pay rent as part of a previous settlement agreement.

The lawsuit does not name Dave Hensley, another former owner of Bar K, as a defendant.

The popular dog bar closed all three of its locations across St. Louis, Kansas City and Oklahoma City due to financial issues. Since the closing in St. Louis, a new pet emporium has replaced the bar.
