A Glasgow councillor who claimed anti-white racism had risen in schools has become Reform UK’s latest recruit .
Audrey Dempsey, who also liked tweets by a far right party, said she is joining Nigel Farage’s team due to its stance on tackling illegal immigration.
Dempsey was elected on a Labour ticket but she was suspended last year after claiming that "racist attacks on white children and teachers" had jumped in city schools .
The Springburn and Robroyston councillor did not provide statistical evidence for her claims and she later quit Labour to become an independent.
The Record also revealed she had liked social media posts by the far right Homeland Party.
These included tweets by Homeland Party chair Kenny Smith, who used to be an organiser for the BNP.
