Kimber Kleven has announced she is running for mayor of Mason City.

Kleven, a nursing home administrator since 2008, has been employed at Good Shepherd since 2020. A native of North Iowa, she and her husband, Mike, raised two children in Mason City, both of whom attended Mason City High School.

According to a press release, Kleven is active in the River City Kiwanis Club. She serves on the board of United Way of North Central Iowa and the MacNider Museum board of trustees. She is also a musician, participating in numerous groups in the area.
