Johnson County groups are getting more money to tackle the opioid epidemic.

The Johnson County Board of Commissioners unanimously awarded another round of opioid grants Monday after receiving recommendations from the county’s Opioid Remediation Advisory Board.

Celebrate Recovery in Edinburgh, Tara Treatment Center in Franklin and Riley Children’s Foundation in Indianapolis were each awarded $50,000, while Infants in BLOOM in Madison was awarded $55,000.

The county is estimated to have approximately $5.7 million in funds to distribute through 2038, with an estimated $250,000 available annually to aid proposals focused on opioid prevention, treatment and recovery.
