DAVIESS COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Daviess Community Hospital will be hosting a Free Car Seat Clinic in September, to help families ensure their child is safe while in the car.
According to the Center of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), using a car seat can reduce the risk of injury in a crash by up to 81% for children, compared to seat belt use alone.
During the clinic, the hospital said families will receive a personalized car seat inspection from a nationally certified Child Passenger Safety Technician. Families will also get step-by-step guidance on proper installation of a car seat that ensures the seat fits the child's age, height and weight, and education on common car seat safety mistakes.
According to the Indiana State Police, all children under the age of eight must b
