CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - Weed pollen levels are rising, causing an increase in allergy symptoms for many residents.

The recent dry weather has contributed to the rise in weed pollen, particularly ragweed, which is affecting allergy sufferers in the area. "The most common symptoms would be sneezing, itchy nose, watery eyes, itchy eyes, nasal congestion," said Dr. David Robertson of Western Massachusetts Allergy.

The current pollen season has shifted from tree and grass pollen to weed pollen. Dr. Robertson advises those with allergies to avoid exposure and suggests using over-the-counter antihistamines, nasal sprays, and eye drops for relief.
