TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— A crash on Friday evening ended with one person uninjured and the other trapped from the impact.

According to Chief Deputy Steve Meng of the Vigo County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to U.S. 41 and Johnson Drive after a report of a two-vehicle collision with someone entrapped. Meng stated that upon arrival, deputies found a van and a pickup truck in the intersection with significant damage.

Meng stated that the driver of the van was trapped from the impact of the collision, and the Honey Creek Fire Department was contacted to assist in extricating him from the vehicle. That driver was then taken by ambulance to Union Hospital in stable condition, but with complaints of pain in his neck and back.
