CHESTERFIELD, Mo. — A Chesterfield man is facing multiple charges, including DWI, in connection with a crash that left a 9-year-old seriously injured on Wednesday.

Dante Devito, 35, was charged with DWI resulting in serious physical injury and leaving the scene of an accident in connection with the Wednesday afternoon crash on Schoettler Road.

According to a press release from the Chesterfield Police Department, a vehicle tried to improperly pass a school bus and struck a 9-year-old child who was on his way home from school. Police said the car then left the scene.

The Parkway School District confirmed the child, who suffered a fractured elbow, concussion and other injuries, is a fourth-grade student at Claymont Elementary School.
