First-responders rescued a man over the weekend who had taken a long fall from a mountain in the southern Black Hills. It happened Saturday afternoon, when the man fell 30 feet at the top of Battle Mountain, a popular hiking area near Hot Springs.

People around the world recognized International Overdose Awareness Day Sunday. Emily’s Hope founder Angela Kennecke says there have been 46 overdose deaths in Minnehaha and Lincoln Counties in the last 18 months.
