LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - JCPS pulled a bad batch of milk from its cafeterias on Aug. 20.
But WAVE News Troubleshooters found school cafeteria managers had reported issues with milk deliveries up to six days earlier. There was even one report of milk being delivered after kitchen staff had left.
Records show the delivery occurred at Chancey Elementary on the 20th.
JCPS told WAVE the driver was able to deliver the milk to the walk-in cooler, but staff reported the chocolate milk was curdled and smelled sour.
The first hint of sour milk came from Stonestreet Elementary on the 14th, six days before JCPS pulled milk from its cafeterias.
The manager said there was mold on the top of the inside of a carton of skim milk.
