SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - A Shreveport high school is mourning the loss of one of its coaches.

Coach Terrence Winn spent more than 30 years coaching basketball and football at Booker T. Washington High School.

On Tuesday, Sept. 2, Shreveport City Council Chairwoman Tabatha Taylor released a statement extending her condolences to Winn’s family and the BTW community.

“Coach Winn touched the lives of so many within our community, and his loss will be felt immensely,” said Chairwoman Taylor. “He was a father, an extended father, a friend, a brother, a colleague, and a community leader. We stand in immense prayer, while extending our hearts to all that love him.”

During Coach Winn’s time at the school, Hibbett Sports honored the Lady Lions Basketball Team through its Sole School partnership.
