The Pure Michigan license plate is quite popular. Statistics show it’s one of the most popular plates in the entire country.

According to research from car rental site Sixt , the Pure Michigan custom plate is the fourth most popular custom license plate in the U.S.

Sixt says out of the 8.6 million plates registered in Michigan, 700,000 feature the “Pure Michigan” design.

Michigan’s “Water-Winter Wonderland” plate is ranked No. 11 with 340K sold, the state’s Mackinac Bridge design is 14th with 200K registered and “Water Wonderland” is No. 18 with 149K registered.

Kentucky’s “Unbridled Spirit” ranks No. 1 with more than 2.1 million registered plates.
