The UTEP football team will try for its first win of the 2025 season when it hosts the University of Tennessee at Martin at the Sun Bowl.

Tennessee-Martin made the FCS playoffs last year and opened this season with a competitive 27-7 loss to Oklahoma State, where it was within 14-7 in the third quarter. The Skyhawks were picked to finish second in the OVC-Big South Football Association preseason poll behind Tennessee Tech.

UTEP had an uneven start to the season in a 28-16 loss at Utah Stat e, where the Miners had a good defensive showing.
