KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — This football season marks the first season of Name Image and Likeness agreements after the House settlement involving NCAA, which marked the end of multiple antitrust lawsuits against the NCAA. In this week's Ask Isaacs, 6 News Anchor Lori Tucker and Attorney Greg Isaacs discuss the current state of NIL agreements.

In June, the settlement was accepted, allowing universities to directly pay student athletes beginning on July 1. The $2.8 billion settlement gave each school approval to share up to $20.5 million with athletes over the next year and included $2.7 billion to be paid over the next 10 years to thousands of former players who were barred from earning that money previously.
