GROVE CITY, Pa. (WKBN) - More mosquitoes have tested positive for West Nile virus in Mercer County.
The Mercer County Conservation District announced Wednesday that West Nile virus has been detected in mosquitoes collected in Grove City and Sharon, pushing the number of samples testing positive in the county this summer to 14.
Mosquito samples have tested positive in those areas previously and in other places in Mercer County. Other locations where the virus was detected have been in Mercer and Shenango Township.
There have been no human cases of West Nile virus in the county, though Allegheny County reported its first human case on Monday.
