ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Legislative Black Caucus of the Albany County Legislature hosted a community roundtable on affordable housing Wednesday night. According to recent Census data, more than 41,000 people, including around 9,000 children, are living in poverty in Albany County.

Along with asking the community for their views on affordability and community concerns, panelists shared ways they hope to help.

"We work with the county executive to create tax incentives to residents who improve their property with accessory dwelling units otherwise known as ADUS," Albany County Legislature Deputy Chairwoman Wanda Willingham said. "These tax credits support county residents who invest in and improve their property with small apartment-style improvements."
