FLORISSANT, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A smell in the air on Wednesday morning had people extra aware.

The Florissant Valley Fire Protection District responded to multiple reports of people reporting a gas smell. The fire department and Spire cleared most of those reports except for one, where a small leak was found and repaired.

The explosion in North County remains on many people’s minds, making them very vigilant when an odor catches their attention.

“I was really concerned, obviously, with the recent explosion in Florissant, but I’m glad that people are being a lot more aware,” said Denise Hill, who lives near one of the areas where a reported gas smell was checked out on Wednesday morning.
