A 22-year-old skier has died in a horror accident at Thredbo Alpine Resort.

About 12.10pm on Tuesday, first responders, the Thredbo Ski Patrol and Medical Centre doctor were called to the scene.

A NSW Police spokesman said the 22-year-old died at the scene.

It is understood the young man lost control on a trail known as “Dream Run” and crashed into a rock.

The run begins at Merritts Mountain House refreshment centre and connects to the High Noon run near Mid Station, passing under the Gunbarrel Chairlift.

The area was closed for several hours as emergency services attended the scene.

“Officers attached to Monaro Police District will prepare a report for the information of the Coroner,” a NSW Police spokesperson said.

Thredbo said it was “deeply saddened” by the tragic death.
