A court case involving a South Toledo man who believes he was wrongfully charged for playing his drums could be headed to mediation.

Patrick Chaney appeared in front of Judge William Connelly, Jr., in Toledo Municipal Court on Thursday, where his case was continued until Oct. 14. That meeting is set for attorneys only.

Judge Connelly suggested that the parties resolve the matter through mediation. If mediation is not a possibility, a visiting judge may be appointed, the judge said.

“As soon as you know if we’re going to go through court mediation, let me know, or if we’re not going to do that, then we’ll get to a follow-up point so we can get a visiting judge in here,” Judge Connelly said from the bench.
