ONTARIO, Ore. — Crews are battling a new wildfire located nearly 10 miles northeast of Prairie City, Oregon, that ignited late Wednesday, Sept. 3.
The Malheur National Forest reported the incident on Thursday, stating fire crews and resources are on site, with additional incoming resources. The fire, named the Bridge Fire, has burned an estimated 500 acres, as of Friday, Sept. 5.
The fire started at roughly 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3. The Bridge Fire is burning timber and brush in a steep, roadless area.
Fire crews and law enforcement worked together on Sept. 4 to help evacuate dispersed campsites and campers in the area.
Despite the rural locale of this fire, the fire is threatening roughly 11 structures and one residence, according to the Grant County Emergency Management
