A second town is considering leaving the county’s solid waste district over alleged poor management and lack of communication. This was before allegations of sexual harassment and discrimination against the district director were made public.

Don Preuss, chair of the Wells Select Board, said Thursday that his board discussed leaving the Rutland County Solid Waste District (RCSWD) at its regular meeting on Aug. 26. No vote was taken to do so, he said, as leaving the district is a lengthy and involved process.
