CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - It might not be their permanent home field, but Houck Field served as an introduction to Saxony Lutheran Football, for much of the Crusaders faithful.

The team already had a game in the books this season, a win at Veritas Christian, and, in fact, an entire JV season from last year.

But tonight was the first night they played a home game, in front of hundreds of Saxony fans.

And the Crusaders delivered, defeating the Doniphan Dons 35-7.

Saxony started strong, opting to receive before marching down the field; Kai McDowell opened the scoring with a touchdown pass to Zach Roth.

It’d be McDowell again on the next Crusaders drive, finding J’Aaron Anderson in stride for another score.
