Armed police were called to a Leicester park after a 14-year-old boy was allegedly threatened with a knife . The victim also had his pushbike stolen during the alleged robbery.

The incident happened just before 5.45pm yesterday (Thursday, September 4) following reports of the robbery in Western Park. Officers said the victim allegedly had his pushbike taken by a group riding dirt bikes who reportedly threatened him with a knife.

Armed officers were deployed to search the area in the interests of "public and police safety". Officers said the National Police Air Service helicopter assisted police and helped identify two of the alleged dirt bike riders.
