As we begin the first weekend of September, we will feel more like July as the heat and humidity build in. High pressure will hold through Sunday as a cold front brings showers and a few isolated storms possible. Temperatures will be in the upper 80s and lower 90s, with a muggy, humid airmass. Lows will be in the lower 70s. Once the front passes by later Sunday, it will bring a reinforcing shot of the cool, fall-like air to ENC again. Highs will be in the lower 80s.
Cooler air remains next week as our front will stall out along the coast. This will give us a chance of showers each day for areas along the Outer Banks and Crystal Coast. Some areas further inland could see a few showers at times. We stay in the upper 70s and lower 80s, lows in the lower 60s, and a nice drop in the humidity.
