LOUDON COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A Virginia man was sentenced in federal court on Thursday for trafficking cocaine while traveling from Nevada to Virginia.

On Thursday, Sept. 4, 34-year-old Kareem Strong of Ashburn was sentenced by a U.S. District Judge to 10 years in federal prison without parole after officers seized one kilogram of cocaine from his possession.

He had been found illegally possessing over a kilogram of cocaine while traveling from Nevada to Virginia by the Kansas City Bus Terminal, per the U.S. Attorney's Office.

On Dec. 13, 2023, authorities found Strong at a Kansas City bus station with a black backpack containing a heat-sealed brick of white powder and a "ROLEX" imprint on it.
