VERNON, CT (WFSB) - A man was arrested for reckless driving and causing a police chase along I-84 on Thursday night.

The man was identified as Jeffrey Lauture, 40, from Stamford.

Massachusetts State Police said a black Nissan Frontier pickup caused a chase and had entered Connecticut on I-84 westbound.

Connecticut State Police confirmed Lauture, the driver of the truck, sped up to 90 mph when a trooper tried to pull him over near exit 69.

Police stationed more units further west on I-84 in Vernon with the hopes of catching the suspect.

That was when a trooper threw stop sticks into the road to deflate Lauture’s tires and end the chase around exit 65.
