A cooler pattern more reminiscent of early fall begins for Northern California as we head into the weekend.

Valley temperatures will stay in the 80s each afternoon for at least the next week. By Monday, highs may barely hit 80 degrees in some spots.

This comes as several areas of low pressure pass to our north, increasing the onshore breeze. That change in the winds should improve the air quality around Lake Tahoe and Tuolumne County.

Next week may even bring a couple of rounds of light rain to the Sierra and scattered pop-up showers to the Valley.
