ORANGE COUNTY, Calif. ( WSFA ) - New details are emerging about an Alabama man who allegedly traveled to California where he was arrested for threatening a Los Angeles area church in late August.

Orange County, California, District Attorney Todd Spitzer confirms the suspect, Joshua Michael Richardson, 38, also known as Joshua Michael Jericho, is from Jemison in Chilton County. Previous documents did not provide information on his hometown.

Spitzer’s office said in a statement that Richardson claimed to be “Michael the Angel of Death” when he drove from Alabama to the West Coast.

On Aug. 19, prior to the cross-country trek, Richardson reportedly sent an emailed threat to St. Michael’s Abbey in Silverado Canyon, located about 45 miles southeast of LA.
