ALCONA COUNTY, MI – An 85-year-old man and his dog were rescued from a house fire in Northern Michigan.
According to Michigan State Police in Alpena, the fire occurred at a residence on Barlow Road in Alcona County’s Gustin Township at 6:15 p.m. on Aug. 20.
Troopers, along with deputies from the Alcona County Sheriff’s Office, arrived to find a home fully engulfed in fire.
Officers made entry and located the man and his dog disoriented in the smoke-filled house. Fortunately, they were able to escort both out of the house to safety.
The Lincoln Fire Department and Mikado Fire Department also responded to the scene.
