BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- A man was arrested after the Bakersfield Police Department received an anonymous tip that claimed a woman was being trafficked across California, Washington and Oregon.

The man was identified as Kevin Mays, 32, according to police. Detectives were not immediately able to confirm the direct link from the victim to Mays.

A police report out of Washington State showed the victim was found driving a rental car registered to Mays.

Throughout the investigation, detectives found online advertisements showing the victim being trafficked. The victim was located in Sacramento, according to the police department.

The police department collaborated with the Sacramento Police Department's Human Trafficking Unit and made contact with the victim.
